Maulana Muhammad Ilyas (rah) Malfuzat compiled by Maulana Muhammad Manzoor Nuhmani (rah)

Having love for a Believer is a treasure for the hereafter. Muslim should love another Muslim. I have faith in Muslim community. Their love for me is giving me hope.
No one can reach salvation only with their deeds. God’s mercy is essential. ‘laa yadkulul jannata ahadun bi amalihi’. This applies to prophets as well. Maulana Ilyas cried after saying this Hadith. All around him cried.
Those born in Muslim houses are Muslims. They are Muslims even if they are lacking ninety nine percent in faith. He is not a real Muslim, but a ritualistic Muslim. Real Muslim is one who completely surrenders to Allah and spends all his time in it.
I am concerned about two things. Zikr (Remembrance) is not up to the mark in our Jamaat. Zakat (alms) is not reaching the right hands. I have noted down forty persons. They are not greedy. They have much interest in Tableeg (missionary). They deserve to receive Zakat. But Zakat has not reached them. Zakat is not being disbursed after finding right candidates. People rushing forward are given. Zakat is also given to those coming for donations and funds.
Ilm (knowledge) will increase Amal (deeds). Amal will increase Zikr. This is the right approach. Knowledge that doesn’t lead to action is darkness. Actions that don’t improve remembrance of God cannot be relied upon. Zikr without Ilm is Fitna (confusion).
People should be taught about Hadiya (gifts), Sadqa (charity) and loans from examples from the lives of Sahabas. Sahabas used to do manual labor and give Sadqa out of it. It is wrong to think that only affluent should give charity. Sahabas gave importance to Sadqa. Hadiya is even loftier. If a borrower is unable to repay the debt, he shall be given more time. Every extended day will fetch us rewards for Sadqa.
Hasan Basri (rah) feared Nifaq (hypocrisy) in him. Youngsters should have more fear of Allah and old people shall have more hope in Allah.
