Indian Science in Arab land

Muslim Murasu, February 2011

Cultivation in desert land is currently an indispensable necessity. (ICARDA) Cultivation in arid land is a new field of science. Interest of Indian scientists in Arab centre deserves appreciation. Hon’ble President of India, Pratibha Patil, toured Arab Emirates, Syria. Good will visit to friendly nations will yield long-term benefits. 40 percent harvest in India is from arid region. Agriculture researches in Arab countries are capable of guiding agricultural growth in India. Food production will increase. Installing petrol pumps in Central Asia, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey and Iran can yield huge revenues. New cooperation has developed in fuel energy, information technology, petrol, phosphate fertilizer, livestock growth, train and metro rail services. Visit of Indian President supports the cause of separate, independent Palestine. Commercial profits totaling to 2.5 times have been signed. Arab world has supported India’s entry as member into United Nations Security Council.
Indian President was deeply impressed by the school for disabled operated by Syrian First Lady Asma Al-Assad and donated 20 lakh rupees for it. And she donated 10 lakh rupees to an old age home run by a Christian Missionary from Kolkatta. There is severe drinking water scarcity in Arab countries. Technology for saline water treatment will help Indian growth as well. Indians form a chunk of immigrants living in Arab countries. Leadership in Arab countries deeply appreciates hard work and technology from India. Abu Dhabi Indian school, Indian Islamic centre, Indian Cultural centre, Dubai Indian club, Dubai International Academic city were among those who hosted Indian President. Exchanges between Arab and India in food processing industry and education infrastructure will reach new heights. Globalization opportunities should be exploited to create opportunity for people of Arab countries to understand ethos of Tamilnadu. Indian President’s visit can kindle fresh ideas. Foreigners take part diplomatically in Pongal celebrations in villages and towns of Tamilnadu. Christian monks from western countries liberally take part in religious congregations in Tamilnadu. Americans and English people take part in Markali music season and Tiruvaiyaru programs. Relation between Tamilnadu Muslim Muhalla and Arab people also should be strengthened.

Writer Real Strength

Muslim Murasu, February 2011

Two things are fundamental to engage in social, public life. Earning capacity and sound health. Dreaming of a society that respects writers is needless. Government will not hug and pat. Restlessness in heart, tormenting experiences, environmental irritations and riling suppression, these factors make an ideologist. Politician is made out of black votes, rowdyism and trance of power. Politicians these days will be hesitant to accept writers. No social reformist movement has germinated in Tamilnadu after Periyar EVR. Each writer should compensate on his own. Police can lunge at any moment. Money is needed to manage disputes and cases. Earnings from son and daughter, hereditary property and income for basic sustenance are needed. One should not enter literary field depending on others or organizations. Society is not in a position to give life, a helping hand and facilities to writer. Because society is hopelessly wandering without basic mould, now ideology, philosophy and principle are being introduced. Writer should exhibit huge hard work and sacrifice. There is no way he will be rewarded with returns, high income and fame. Because of excessive commercialization, writer should forcefully make his thoughts go on print. No one comes forward and offers support with any money. One should often remind oneself of the scenes from Ta’if city. Prophet setting off to Madina in the middle of the night, beastly men surrounding the house with brandished swords – these scenes are daily experiences. Luxurious and disguising people have grabbed and achieved community leadership. They will never welcome pristine writings and reformist ideas. They won’t help. Award functions for writers, book releases, dinners, foreign tours and photo ops that are staged these days are contractual obligations. There should not be any mention about cataclysmal price rise, real estate day robbery, and sudden amassing of black money. Ruling class is ready for compromise. Else follow principles that will lead to shrinking facilities, fame, reputation and influence. Writer is faced with two options; acquiesce with the world or follow the Prophet. Society that will honor writer has not yet formed. Good hearts have taken up the efforts in this direction. Those who do not have sufficient family income and physical fitness need not enter public life. Imaan, belief in God will be severely challenged. Help and support of good honest companions will be needed. Once they are found, they are seen and their proximity is earned, then there is no fear. Journey can be continued.

Smoking - Islam's enemy

Muslim Murasu, February 2011

One faces insufferable pungent Beedi smell on entering toilets in Mosques. Difficulties in maintaining sacred premises. Notice board is dangling. Put the beedi, cigarette remains in the dustbin. Users use to go to toilets with a mood of urgency. Smoking smell stirs the stomach. Jaayis, Haraam, Makrooh, these Arabic terminologies will not assuage the cruelty imparted by smoking. Muslims love God, seek to do service for a long term in healthy conditions. Smoking impairs physical well being in all ways. It will cause agonizing lung disease; destruct family finance; increase medical expenditure. Foul smell will be an obstacle for intimacy of hearts. Smoking habit is enemy to Islam. 24 crore Indians smoke. Central Health Ministry preaches to people through 40 TV channels, 11 languages and 100 theaters. Yearly 10 lack deaths can be avoided. Developed western countries prevent lung disease. The habit of high-income group (H.I.G) has imbued low-income group also. Andhra tops the list in India. Tamilnadu comes second. Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss creates enough awareness. Inflation rate per year is 15 percent. Poor people bearing this brunt should not spend even a single rupee on tobacco leaves. Those who are looking for groom should take this seriously. One who approaches his wife with foul mouth is a suppressing beast. This will trample women rights. Wife is vested with the responsibility to bear a child with all patience. She is destined to find intimacy without any adverse countenance. Family members don’t allow expressing revulsion to others. Many religious people have fallen pray to the smoking habit. Heart will not find strength to show guidance. Body is God’s treasure, gift. No one has the right to spoil the organs. Those who smoke brazenly and surreptitiously are equal criminals. Beedi, cigarette, tobacco leaves do not have a place in esteemed Islamic culture. Muslim entrepreneurs can look for other professions. God will bestow His mercy. They should abjure beedi industry. Muslim petty shops need not sell tobacco products. Those who believe in God’s mercy will get committed to this. Products that offer well being will give huge financial strength to business. God will not lay down rules for dwellers of hell; the products that we sell and consume will decide. Tobacco products are not fit for consumption. The fire that will engulf in the graveyard is now showing its signs at the tip of the lips. “Khair Ummath” – best community should not inhale smoking. Jakaath funds can be generously given to the families whose lives are adversely impacted, crippled and diseased owing to beedi business.
