God's Promise Will Come True Even Now

Maulana Wahiduddin Khan speech
Published in Muslim Murasu, April 2013

There is repetition in material world. Sun will rise and set every day. Day and night rotate. No one observes these cycles carefully. It has a plan in it and occurs the same way. A fetus forms the same way it did thousand years ago. There is no change in child birth. Seasons will come and go.
There is repetition in human life as well. You don’t realize it. God’s laws are in action in this domain also. You will not benefit if you fail to understand. History will give you an opportunity. You have to prove yourself. Otherwise you will fail to gain.
Masjidun Nabawi was a small structure. Prophet (s.a.w.s) was sitting with his companions. Zammam bin Saliba came there. Who among you is son of Abdul Muttalib? He did not start with greeting or word of respect. Prophet replied. I am grandson of Muttalib.
Has God sent you as His messenger? Yes. Did He ask you to preach? Yes. He asked many questions. He got his doubts clarified. He asked Prophet to stretch his hand and did Baiyat. He embraced Islam. This is not just an event in history. It repeats.
Yesterday, there was a seminar in Delhi. I delivered speech in it. Participants were elite, English-speaking. Speakers represented Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Christianity. People asked many questions. Essence is same, form is different.
They are two events. The one asking question, criticizing is severe in his words. We should not take offense. We placed the Quran on the table. People rejected it at the beginning. But their doubts were clarified after the speech. They willingly took the Quran after the event. Wrong impression of Islam has entered their hearts. They have wrong ideas about conversion also. A friendly atmosphere was brought after careful, reasonable explanation. I explained that the objective of Islam is to bring spiritual quest and guide in it.
Surah Ala Imran, 3, verse 194 – ‘rabbana wa aatina maa wa’adtana alaa rusulika’. Lord! Give us what You promised us through Your prophets.
It is important to understand the mission of prophets. Whatever God promised to fulfill the mission, will be granted to us as well. This is not a supplication for rewards or kingdom. Many prophets did not attain kingdom. This is neither a supplication for the life in the hereafter. That part comes later in the verse. ‘walaa tukzinaa yawmal qiyaamati’. Don’t put us in humiliation on the judgment day.
There are conditions for the fulfillment of God’s promise. The message should be presented in a good manner. We should not feel offended. Natural attitude should be taken in good spirit. This will finish fifty percent of the task. For the remaining fifty percent, angels will create love in the hearts of the recipients for you. This won’t happen all the time. But this will happen when God desires so. This happened in Medina. They troubled Prophet. He tolerated. There was reaction in the hearts of the unbelievers. They started accepting the message.
Success is certain if the missionary work is pleasing to Allah. Efforts and the example set by Prophet, both are important. This world is Daarul Insaan. You will receive God’s help. The Quran emphasizes help by God in many places. Goals should be clear. It can avoid despair. Competency and goal should match.
An engineer graduate can aspire to become engineer. He will succeed. If he tries to become Prime Minister, he ends in despair. This can lead him to suicide. Many movements are started to give Islam an upper hand. This leads till suicide mission.
Many Islamic movements are started to bring Islamic rule. But this has not happened. They spend their lives in disappointment. Avoid pursuing self-styled goals. The goal and plan given by God are sufficient. You will realize God’s promise even today.
History will repeat. People without eyes won’t see. You will see if you have knowledge and wisdom. Understand the verse in right perspective. It will give positive food, constructive growth. The miracles of the Quran will never exhaust. New understandings will keep springing. But it needs devotion to God. You will get hundred messages if you have Qalbe Saleem, cultured heart. History never stops. One idea will trigger hundred more ideas.
Surah Rahman, 55, verse 29 – ‘kulla yawmin huwa fi sha’nin’. Don’t under estimate God. He acts and achieves every day. He creates history every day.
Surah Zumar, 39, verse 67 – ‘wa maa qadarullaha haqqa qadrihi’. They have not made any just estimate of God. If you don’t estimate God properly, you won’t get correct contact with Him. You won’t receive appropriate fear, love or intimacy.
Profound things can be understood only from deep thinking. Cursory translations won’t help.

Conceiving Child After Senility

Darse Quran at Chennai Porur mosque on 10.3.2013
Published in Muslim Murasu, April 2013

Surah Maryam, 19. Kaaf. Haa. Yaa. Ain. Saad. We don’t know its meaning. This is a Mutashabihaatun verse. We cannot be certain or definite about its meaning. Allah has sent down a Surah in honor of Maryam (alai).
Allah’s Names are first explained. Kaaf can refer to Kaafi. Haa can refer to Haadi. Yaa refers Raheem. Ain refers Aleem and Saad refers Saadiq. Some commentators construe these letters to be abbreviations of these Attributes of God. Allah is sufficient for His creations. He will guide His servants. His Hand is above their hands. He knows His creations well. Allah is true in His promises. This is one possible explanation.
Allah alone knows the true meaning. Prophet (s.a.w.s) and his companions have explained verses and words from the Quran. But Hurfe Muqattaat should be taken as they are. We should not get dogmatic.
Verse continues. ‘zikru rahmati rabbika abduhu zakariya’. It is to mention your Lord’s mercy on His servant Zakariya. Allah explains how He helped Zakariya (alai). ‘iz naadaa rabbahu nidaa’an kafiyyaa’. He called his Lord in secret. He prayed in silence.
Maryam’s mother and Zakariya’s wife were sisters. Maryam’s mother was elder. They both did not have offspring. Maryam’s mother Hanna prayed to God. It is ignominy to live without a child. Give me a child and I will devote it to Your service. I will dedicate the child to Baitul Muqaddas. This was first Kaaba. Prophet prayed towards it for sixteen months. I will dedicate to that mosque. She conceived a child. It was a girl. The mosque had nine Hazrat. Zakariya was one of them. The child Maryam was brought up in a chamber in the mosque as decided earlier. Zakariya made arrangements for her food and security and she grew in his care.
There used to be fruits out of season in her chamber. Summer fruits were available with her in winter and winter fruits in summer. Zakariya wondered and asked her about it. Maryam replied that she gets them from Allah.
Zakariya did not have child. He was in senile age. He had become very old and lost hope. Now he got a ray of hope in his heart. He prayed in silence. Give me a child. It was midnight. People were asleep. No other creation should hear his prayer. Allah alone should hear it. He lowered his voice.
Those were words from an old, mature, experienced man. He was careful in his prayer. ‘My Lord! My bones are infirm and the hair of my head has grown grey’. ‘qaala rabbi inni wahanal azmu minni’.
Bones are the strongest in human body. They will be the last to disintegrate. They will remain as fossil for quite some time. Strength in bones resembles sound body. Back will get hunched in old age. Bones will bend. Bones will grow again even if they are broken in young age. This can’t happen in elderly age. This shows weakness.
His wife was barren. Her age was 98. ‘Grant me a progeny from Thee’. Give me a descendant and a descendant for Yakoob. Make him pious and pleasing for You.
Prophet (s.a.w.s) used to starve. Prophets will come by with human nature. He was attacked with black magic. It impacted him. We got two protecting Surahs as a result, Surah Falaq and Surah Naas. They give us security. But some features in the lives of prophets will be beyond human ability or comprehension.
Fruits bestowed on Maryam’s chamber were out of season. Zakariya saw this. Allah gives fruits of different season. He can give me a child the same way. He implored God. I did not get child in my days. Now those days are gone. But even now God can give me a child. He prayed.
He was greeted with good news of a child named Yahya. This name has never been used earlier. Allah gave the child and the name.
Wife was very old. How can this happen. This is the doubt that any person can have. Will she conceive in her present condition, that is, old age, or will she be returned to her youth and then conceive. Pregnancy is impossible after cessation of menstruation. I am at the height of old age. I can’t even walk, I wobble. Allah replied. ‘qaala kazaalika’. So will it be. You will get child while you are still an old person. It is easy for Me.
Verse 9. ‘qaala rabbuka huwa alaiyaa hayyinun waqad kalaqtuka min qablu walam taqu shaiyyaa’. I created you when you were nothing.

No Rising Without Sacrifice

Darse Quran by Maulana Muhammad Mustafa Shareef Naqshbandhi
Published in Muslim Murasu, April 2013

Sulaika was queen. She was attracted to Prophet Yusuf (alai) who was a slave. This news spread in the entire Egypt. She was severely ridiculed and criticized.
Surah Yusuf, 12, verse 31 – ‘falamma sami’at bi makrihinna’. She heard their malicious talks. ‘arsalat ilaihinna’. She sent them an invitation. A high-class, luxurious feast was arranged. ‘wa a’tadat lahunna muttaka’an’. Arrangement was five-star. Women who participated in the feast were from high-class, royal families.
‘wa aatat kulla waahidatin minhunna sikkeenan’. Each one of them was handed a knife. Perhaps a fruit was given as a starter. Prophet Yusuf was told to pass by them.
‘wa qaalatikruj alaihinna falammaa ra’ainahu akbarnahu wa katta’na aidiyahunna’. They lost themselves. They cut their hands. They did not even realize that the fruit had slipped and they have taken a serious injury. It was not a slight cut. It was deep incision.
When man dies in the path of Allah, Allah appears before him without veil. There won’t be pain of death. Martyr will relish and revel in the sight. When he reaches heaven, the only desire he will have will be to go back to earth and again get cut in the path of Allah. He will want to be slain again and again. There is nothing like it. Those who are in love of Allah are better than those who desire this world or the heaven.
Friday is important day in heaven. Some will get Allah’s Deedar (sight) once in a week. For some it is once in a month, for some once in a year. Some will see Him every day and for some it is every moment. Every time their face will become more glowing and more endearing.
Prophet Moosa (alai) got Allah’s Deedar. He had to always keep his eyes lower afterwards. A person will die if he sees Moosa (alai) eye to eye. Such was the power of his sight. This was the position of Moosa (alai).
Status of our Prophet (s.a.w.s) is higher than this. Surah Najm, 53, verse 9 – ‘fa kaana kaaba kawsaini aw adnaa’. They were close like two ends of a bow or even nearer. ‘fa awhaa ilaa abdihi maa awhaa’. He conveyed whatever He wanted. Three gifts were given: Salaat, verse of Aamade Rasool, good news that those who believe in Oneness of God will enter heaven.
Ayisha (rali) says: They saw Prophet Yusuf and cut their hands. They would have cut their throats had they seen our Prophet.
Shahaadat (martyrdom) is not easy to attain. One has to pray for it. Surah Fatiha says ‘siraatallazina an’amta alaihim’. Path of those on whom You have favored. Surah Nisa, 4, verse 69 gives more explanation. Allah has bestowed His favor on four kinds of people: 1. Nabi 2. Siddeeq 3. Shuhadaa 4. Saaliheen. ‘anamallahu alaihim minannabiyeena wassiddeekeena wasshuhadaayi wassaaliheen’.
Grown-ups cannot be satisfied with chocolates. Martyrs will find joy only in the sight of Allah. In the hereafter, one group will go to hell and one group will go to heaven. There will be a third group who will be adamant to get Deedar of Allah. They will be told to go to heaven which is the place for Allah’s Deedar.
Prophet Yusuf had two miracles. He was extremely beautiful and he can interpret dreams. Miracles of our Prophet cannot be counted. Ayisha (rali) says that she can find a lost needle in the light of his smile.
Prophet’s Deedar is also not an easy thing. Even if he appears, he will appear only in human form. He will appear in his original Noor on the Judgment Day. People drenched in his love say that the whole purpose of judgment day is to establish the status of Prophet in front of everyone. Everyone will know his position. We will be inquired about our life and accounted for once we enter the grave after death.
Surah Bani Israel, 17, verse 79 – ‘asaa anyab’ashaka rabbuka makaaman mahmoodaa’. Prophet will be granted the place of ‘Mahmooda’. It is the station of praise and glory.
Sulaika erred in ignorance. Later she accepted Imaan. Our love for offspring, family and parents are a training. This love won’t help us. Our love for Allah and Prophet will be always helpful. There are two opinions about Sulaika among scholars. Some say Prophet Yusuf and Sulaika did not marry. My Sheykh told they married. Prophet Sulaiman was able to hear what an ant spoke from a distance of three miles. It is not important whether that ant was red or black. The message of the Quran is important. Women were given apple in that feast. Let us not get into dispute about the fruit.
Verse 31 continues – ‘wakulna haasha lillahi maa haazaa basharan’. By Allah, this person is not a man. ‘in haazaa illa malakun kareem’. This is a great angel.
Verse 32. ‘wala inlam yaf’al maa aamuruhu layusjananna walayakoonan minas saagireen’. I will certainly imprison him and let him humiliated if he does not follow my wishes. But Prophet Yusuf guarded himself. He declined to comply to her desires and instead chose to be imprisoned.
Verse 33 – ‘qaala rabbi sijnu ahabbu ilaiyya mimmaa yadwuunanee ilaihi’. Prophet Yusuf restrained himself. In return, he got Sulaika, kingdom, joined his family and received all honor. If you desist from bad habits, you will be given good family, wealth and a honorable life in the hereafter.
Worst epidemic in this age is sinful gazing. This will bring all good deeds to naught. This is flagrant transgression of Allah’s command. Young ones and old ones indulge in this. Everyone sees TV. It will blind our hearts and blunt our vision. We prey on other’s dignity. This will invite Allah’s wrath. Things that enter through eyes, ears and tongue will pollute our hearts. We should shut doors on sins. We should protect eyes, ears, tongue and heart.
Surah Bani Israel, 17, verse 36 – ‘inna sam’a wal basara walfuwaada kullu ulaika kaana anhu mas’oolaa’. What we see, hear and feel will be questioned. Intelligence is to fear Allah.
One has to share company with murderers, thieves and rowdies in prison. It is a life without luxuries or assistance by maids. Prophet Yusuf embraced it. Great heights can’t be scaled without sacrifices. ‘fastajaaba lahu rabbuhu’. Allah accepted his prayer.

Give Sermon Without Looking For Permission

Muslim Murasu, April 2013

Mosques are centers for servants of God to come together. They are focal points for sacred mission and religious activities. They have played a historic role. There is no place or hope for peace and tranquility other than mosques.
Social revival can happen by bringing Muslims back into mosques. Today in Mohalla, mosque, management and people operate as three separate entities. Islamic activities and mosques have two distinct roles. Both have their own places. Quality, character and culture of management differ widely.
Speeches play their role in reinforcing Islamic religious fundamentals. Dry, parched land benefits from rain. Uses are numerous. Speeches can mitigate the culture of violence, disgraceful thoughts, mentality of separation and arrogance. Five thousand speakers are needed for the Tamilnadu Muslim population of fifty lakh. Mere speakers are not adequate. They should be role-models. Words and deeds should be one.
Two events should be arranged in the mosque everyday, one in the morning and one in the evening, all throughout the year. This is the tool to counter Shaitan’s ploys and materialistic rage. Today mosques cater to the ritualistic needs of five percent of the population. People offering regular prayer count less than two lakh. Rest of the population remains aloof from mosques and lives a distant life.
Mosques can be classified in three categories: mosques that have management strength of more than ten crore rupees, those with strength of one crore rupees and those with less than one crore.
If Imaam presiding Juma prayer falls sick or goes out of town, there should not be a situation to scamper for another Imaam. Secretary, Zamindar or local leader should come forward and deliver Qutba speech. Incompetent people should raise their religious merits.
People of the Mohalla, donation givers, should  be groomed to deliver speech on religion, society and culture. While living in a society of seven crore Hindus, Islamic cultural identity should be thrust from the mosques.
Finding fault, accusing and sidelining will not help in finding speakers. Continuous training will help. Photo of the speaker, detail, record and text should be preserved. Open and fast progress on this front will bind the society together.

Delta District Politics

Muslim Murasu, April 2013

River Cauvery drains its water in the sea through three districts in its delta: Tanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.
In Tanjavur district, Pattukottai, Tanjavur, Kumbakonam and their surroundings enjoy urban growth. Rice from Karnataka is being sold in shops in this region for the past ten years. Luxury car showrooms, surging two-wheelers, new engineering colleges and educational institutions bear witness for urbanization. Soil is mostly sandy. Rainfall is thousand millimeter. Forty five kilometer of seashore adds to wealth. Five hundred lakes store water. Four universities do the serious job of grooming youngsters and sending them to bigger cities and foreign nations. Riverbed has been occupied by real estate plunderers and no way is left for unhindered flow of Cauvery water.
In Tiruvarur district, Koothanallur, Mannargudi, Tiruvarur, Tiruturaipoondi are urbanized. People who have moved out of agriculture have prospered in other sectors. Annual rainfall is 1100mm. Seashore spans forty seven km. Forest area sprawls around ten thousand hectare.
In Nagapattinam district, Seerkazhi, Mayiladuturai, Nagai are urbanized areas. Seashore is spread across 187 km. Petroleum, fuel and allied sectors are rapidly growing. Fish production is large.
New approach should be evolved to sustain growth in the three districts in the absence of Cauvery water. People of these districts have good contacts in foreign nations. Government should candidly publish foreign income over the past thirty years. Many I.A.S officers are from this soil. They work in PMO and offices of cabinet ministers in high ranks. They should be impressed upon to contribute to their hometowns.
Heavyweight politicians from here have occupied good berths in central government as a benefit of coalition politics. White paper shall be demanded about their service.
Politicians who are obsessed with south Indian states and hell bent on clashing with central government betray the interests of the region. Good relation with neighboring states is imperative for Tamilnadu. Encroachments on riverbed, cleaning of lakes and ponds without corruption should receive attention.
Saving thousand mm of annual rainfall is more than enough. There is no need for pleas or begging for mercy.

Islam, Imaan, Ihsaan

Speech given in a seminar at Noori Maskan, Hyderabad by Maulana Hafiz Dr. Syed Shah Badiuddin, Professor at Osmania University
Published in Muslim Murasu, April 2013

If both Islam and Imaan are mentioned in a Quran verse or Hadees, then they have different meanings. Islam means to accept outwardly and Imaan is to have faith in heart. This is clearly expressed in the Hadees of Jibreel (alai). Islam pertains to outward actions and Imaan pertains to heart.
But if a verse mentions only Islam or Imaan, then they will have comprehensive meaning. Surah Ala Imran, 3, verse 19 – ‘inna deena indallahil islam’. Islam is the only religion accepted by God. Here Islam encompasses faith and action. Surah Hadeed, 57, verse 19 – ‘wallazina aamanu billahi wa rasoolihi ulaika humu siddiqoon’. Here Imaan refers to both faith and deeds.
Surah Hujurat, 49, verse 14 – ‘qaalatil a’raabu amanna qul lam tu’minu walakin qulu aslamna’. In this verse, Islam and Imaan have different meanings, because both are referred. Some tribes surrounding Medina like Usaina, Zuhaina, Aslam accepted Islam only to protect their life and property. They did not accept Islam in heart.
Tirmidi Hadees – ‘every thing has a Zaahir (exterior) and Baatin (quintessence)’. Everybody knows what Islam means outwardly. Islam, in essence, is to sacrifice everything. It includes devoting property, money, offspring and life. It means to completely submit to God.
Surah Baqara, 2, verse 131 – ‘izqaala lahu rabbuhu aslim qaala aslamtu lirabbil aalameen’. Prophet Ibrahim (alai) completely submitted to God. He sacrificed everything.
‘al moominu miratul moomin’. Moomin is mirror for Moomin.
Sheykh Abdul Qader Jeelani explains that one Moomin in this Hadees refers to God. Moomin is one of Asmaul Husna. Another Moomin refers to the believer. Religion is composite of Islam, Imaan and Ihsaan. Ihsaan came to be known as Tasawwuf in later times.
The goal of Tasawwuf is to learn complete servitude to God, regardless of whether in the prayer or involved in other activities. Ali (rali) says, “I did not worship God without seeing Him”. Umar (rali) says, “ I see God in my heart with His Noor”.

Mental Strength To Bear Losses

Maulana Muhammad Ilyas (rah) Malfuzat compiled by Maulana Muhammad Manzoor Nuhmani (rah)
Published in Muslim Murasu, April 2013

People taking part in our missionary work should have full faith in the recompense and rewards they will receive. Those following our advise till the last day will contribute to our rewards. The Quran and Hadees gives us courage.
Intention should be pure. God should approve it. When you exhort others for Tableegh (missionary) work, clearly explain them the rewards in the hereafter. Explain them such that the pleasant life in heaven is in front of their eyes. That is the approach of the Quran. This will prepare them for the losses that they may suffer in this world.
When you introduce the message during Gasht (rounds), there should be parallel arrangements for Zikr. Power of other hearts should come into play while a profound message is being presented to a heart. Allah has kept huge powers in the hearts. Zikr will also alleviate delusions created by Shaitan in the hearts of the recipient. When Tableegh work is done to people living in evil condition, more care should be taken for Zikr so that the preachers are safe from the effects of Shaitan and Jinns.
Students of Madrasa are guests of God. Guests should not cause inconvenience to the host. Troubles caused by guests will be more discomforting for the host than anyone else. Shaitan will not entertain anyone seeking knowledge. He loses and despairs. He has lost the first round. Now he will stop them from preaching the message after they complete education. The objective of this mission is to relieve the servants from the clutches of Shaitan.
Madrasa students should serve and obey their teachers. They should fulfill the needs of their teachers before coming out for Tableegh work. Your teachers should be impressed by the progress you make in character, activities, knowledge and culture. They should see this missionary work in good light.
Tongue is a special favor on human beings. Animals don’t have much use for it. Man can put his tongue to proper use and rise above angels. With wrong use, he can stoop lower than pigs.
Maulana Ashraf Ali Tanwi (rah) has passed away. His followers and people in his circle should continue their work. Taking the message and teachings of Maulana Tanwi to people is the proper way of paying respect to him. This will increase his status and he will receive more benefits if more people follow him.
Hadees – ‘man da’aa ilaa hasanatin falahu ajruhaa wa ajru man amalahaa’. Whoever advices a good deed will receive rewards same as the one who follows it.

Every Member In The Society Is Responsible

Weekly speech at Tableeghi Markaz, Tolichowki, Hyderabad
Published in Muslim Murasu, April 2013

Man is sent to earth to know and learn about God. Preaching goodness and prohibiting evil will help him fulfill his purpose. Prophet is for all nations. Every member in the society is priceless. One can lead thousands to redemption. The mission of the prophets of earlier times is now in the hands of every member. This is the gift of our Prophet (s.aw.s). One section should call people towards God’s Rububiyat, Uluhiyat and Kibriyayi.
Sheykh of Khwaja Mohinudeen Chisthi (rah) once told his disciples. “Whoever prays Fajr Namaz tomorrow behind me will enter heaven”. He further warned his disciples not to tell this to anyone. But a huge crowd turned out the next morning for prayer. Sheykh inquired about who disclosed this message. Khwaja Mohinudeen admitted and expressed his wish that everyone should enter heaven.
His Sheykh felt happy and said, “Allah will do wonders through you. You have love for everyone”. A few years passed. When Chisthi travelled from Ajmer to Bangladesh, ninety thousand people joined him. People were attracted to him.
Tufail bin Amr Addawsi (rali)  visited Mecca. People of Mecca warned him. “Plug cotton in your ears. We have a magician here. Whoever hears his words renounces his religion and joins him”. Prophet was praying near Kaba. Tufail thought to himself. “I am a leader of a community. I have knowledge and experience. Let him say his message, I will decide for myself”.
He followed Prophet to his house and asked him what he has got to say. God’s message seemed right to him and he accepted it. He returned to his home and made his wife and mother accept Islam. His community did not pay heed. He came to Prophet and requested him to curse them. Prophet prayed for their guidance. He returned and continued his preaching. Eighty tribes converted to Islam. Companions like Abu Huraira (rali) were among them.
Maulana Ilyas (rah) felt burned with the same concern ninety years ago. Now many people have joined this mission.
Today, man spends all his strength towards this perishable material world. Man is clay before his birth and will become clay again.
Khalid bin Walid (rali) returned from a battle taking war prisoners with him. He came to know of a bottle of poison with a prisoner. He learned that the plan is to kill oneself if caught. Khalid bin Walid opened the bottle and drank all the poison. He perspired a little. Poison did not kill him.
Prophet told: “Slave of the world has perished. Slave of Dinar has perished. Slave of Dirham has perished”. Halaak.
Surah Furqan, 25, verse 43 – ‘ara'aita manit takaza ilaahahu hawaahu’. He has taken his passion as his god.
Children use to blindfold their eyes and play in the street. They will dash with objects and other people. We are blindfolded with desire for this world. We clash with our brothers, other people, government and society. Restraint is needed in life. A horse can push down its rider if there are no reins. We will get clarity if we have control over our heart. It will make us understand about Allah, Rasoolullah, the Book and good character.
Surah Yusuf, 12, verse 108 ‘ haazihi sabeeli adwu ilallahi alaa baseeratin’. I call unto God will clear wisdom. It is not enough to just pray and fast. Religion won’t have complete effect on us. When Briyani is cooked in a house, smell spreads in the neighborhood and people will get tempted. Briyani cannot be cooked with single item. It needs a mix of composite recipe. People will be attracted if we follow religion completely.
When a person sets out for Haj and passes away in the way, Allah will raise him along with Haajis. If we live and die in the search of Imaan, Allah will raise us as Believers.
We should not renounce material world. It will create the illusion that I am god. We should not spend our lives in the dependence of materials. It is Shirk. Means and materials should be used, but trust should be on God. Such Imaan cannot come without pain. We should leave our homely luxuries and come out.

Let Us Resolve Residence Problem

Muslim Murasu, April 2013

Sand, cement, Jalli, brick and labor cost goes through the roof. Middle class, people with yearly income of less than ten lakh rupees, daily wages and those living hand-to-mouth existence live under terrible conditions.
People wallowing in wealth amass land without any limit. Prosperity in six cities in India rides on real estate development. Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune and Bangalore have seen rapid expansions.
Building cost has risen three times in the past four years in Chennai. One square feet costs four thousand rupees. It is beyond the reach of lower and middle class sections. People with piles of money take banks on their sides, make their own ground and rules and go for thirty percent profit. Three crore houses are urgently needed.
A construction company announced in 2009 to build twenty lakh houses at one lakh rupees each. It rescinded citing inflation. Construction cost has risen 284 percent in the last ten years. This is the highest in any part of the world.
It is possible to construct at a reasonable price. Construction will cost only fifty percent. But hunting by middlemen, permit fees and land scamsters distort the prices.
Sixty percent of Tamilnadu Muslims are pushed to urban life. Seven lakh houses are needed. Muslims living in rented houses suffer severe problems. Electricity bills are whimsical. Water problems are unmanageable. Houses are not given if they have more than two children. If they change house for some reason, they have to struggle for six months to obtain ration card, voter card and gas connection.
Muslim residence is more important than mosques. Arrangement should be made for the faithful to live a dignified life in a good house. Privatization is the national policy. Approvals for land and construction can be obtained easily if applied in a cooperative, collective way. Project cost can be brought down. Building materials can be procured in bulk at cheap rates.
It is the duty of philanthropists to build own houses for Tamilnadu Muslims at five lakh or ten lakh rupees. Islam’s dignity lies in the dignity of Muslims. Hurry to help them rise.

Influencing Personality

Muslim Murasu, April 2013

Clean personality is of foremost importance. Making an impression on others is more important. Situation was treacherous during the times of prophets and pioneers. But they did not succumb to the traditions and ideas of the majority.
To have a distinct character and to produce men of similar quality is possible only for people of exemplary personality. Dry and dead will flow with the current. A fish full of life can swim with the current or against the current as it wants.
Racial, language, caste based organizations in Tamilnadu will often create fascinating scenes. Tamilians will usually identify such movements and stay away and keep them away. Anti-liquor campaigns are now being staged in Tamilnadu. Muslim faces are also present in the show. Islamic personality is of a different nature. Self control comes first. There should not be any business or partnership with drunkards. There should not be any sitting together with them. It is not needed to inquire their recovery when they fall ill. They should not be congratulated. Tamilnadu Muslims should first make themselves an embodiment of Shariah.
Election divides Tamilians in different camps. Parliament election, Assembly election, municipality election, cooperative election, by polls, announcement of any of these elections will bring curtains for anti-liquor drama. Anti-liquor campaigns are needed to retain political influence when there are no elections in vicinity. Government staff and officers with drinking habit should be dismissed. They are the ones who will support corruption. Tipsy parties for foreign guests and visitors should be stopped. These campaigners will not support such drastic, real laws.
Chennai was expanded. Twenty lakh Tamilians were thrown into refugee life. Economy took a deep dive. Many died from illness and poverty. 70000 died in Yalpanam. Life in the urbanized capital city of Tamilnadu is thirty times more cruel. Five thousand rupees plot now goes for fifty lakh. One liter drinking water costs twenty rupees. Yalpanam crisis can be resolved only with the help of SAARC and central government. Muslims are also posing and prancing in hopeless agitations.
Tamilnadu is giving space for fake, fictitious agitations. TV owners and corrupt politicians together come up with titles for agitations. Tamilnadu Muslims having fear of God and distinct personality should stay away from this. Farcical events won’t help Tamilians. It will only make us a laughing stock.

Rajya Sabha Is Our Target

Muslim Murasu, April 2013

Politics by Tamilnadu Muslims revolved around bashing British and patronizing Congress until 1950. Later, opposing Congress took centre stage till 1975. The cinema politics that came to power after this severely marginalized Muslim society. Bitterness, antagonism continued till 1989. Muslims had to yet again bear losses in politics. Hopeless politics, unashamed dynasty culture that was visible among parties on whom hopes were pinned made Tamilnadu Muslims despondent.
In between, petroleum income from Arab land gave opportunity for self-sufficiency for thirty years. Schisms within religious groups, amateur attitude divided Tamilnadu Muslim community in largely two groups. Political vision worsened. Mohallas that sent their men in hordes to foreign soil were left without anyone to guide their youngsters in political realm. This created a vacuum.
Tamilnadu Muslims showed uncalled-for interest in Babri Masjid demolition in 1992. This was because they did not see through the conspiracy. Every Muslim was labeled as terrorist.
Composed intellectuals, independent activists, administrators, educationists have toiled for the last ten years to temper Muslim society. They have met with success.
Muslims try to take agnostic stance towards politics. Works are afoot at grass root level to bring economic strength, educational growth, religious framework and dignified life. Muslims don’t involve in agitations, strikes or anti-government agenda. Constructive growth is the primary objective.
Every member in the society has understood the objective well and is trained to lead. Absolute transformation towards growth has seeped in every activity in the society. ‘All forty for us’ concept was familiarized to Tamil electorate, thanks to Muslim vote bank. Politics does not stop with casting ballot. Politics includes relation with neighboring states, amicable contact with other nations and eliminating ruckus-mongers. Demand for a Prime Minister from South India shows rise in politics.
It is better not to participate in the gamble of spending twenty crore rupees for a single Parliamentarian. All forty seats shall be gifted to one alliance. Two Rajya Sabha seats shall be negotiated discreetly in return. Shocking turnout of 180 members to the other team in the last Assembly election largely happened with the role played by Tamilnadu Muslims. Tamilnadu Muslims shall consider shrewdness and discretion, watchfulness and political negotiations.
