Unnecessary Government Officespace

Muslim Murasu, January 2011

Two parts can be observed from a visit to a government office - furnitures and files. Salaries of government employees are credited in banks these days. Gone are the days when one employee had to bring money, another to count it, another to distribute it, while a full day was celebrated and wasted as salary-day, roaming without doing any work. A quarter of the office hours is spoilt in securing attendance registry, leave registry, activities and tasks files. Government works are substantively hampered. Many hours, days, weeks and years are spent in each office in searching files and archives. Abject foolishness has become a practice. Salary is wasted in searching for corresponding files while consumer is made to run from pillar to post. Urgent schemes are put in cold storage. Delay in spending funds. Bills are not met with early remittances. Even after government has alloted fund, confusion in spending it. Atrocities of demonic auditors and honest employers being punished have become a custom. Unnecessary turmoils in hearts. Reform is needed to change the situation of useless government service and employers from whom it has become impossible to harness work. Piece rate concept akin to private firms should be implemented – remuneration should be given only for completed work, else salary should be rejected. Cursed practices of English system should be disposed of with urgency. Government should give relief, solution or reply within three days after getting three memos or requests without delay. Signature of two employees should suffice. New files should be created on the lines of principle for witness. Time should not be wasted in searching for old files. Government should foremost believe its employees. They should be provided leeway to operate. Their signature should be respected. There is no need to call for ten officers for extra review and signature. In the form of government offices, exorbitant amount of money is being wasted. Rented buildings are not needed for protecting furnitures and files. Data can be stored in laptops and central servers. Big cabins are not needed for officers. As much space that will accommodate laptop should suffice. Rent will be saved. Files that are three years old can be gutted down. Godowns of files and archives come by as government offices today. 40000 rupees salary for protecting files. This affects efficiency and attitude of the employee. Time is wasted in searching and passing on files. Government should move out of rented offices. This will save tax money. Employee will engage in useful service to the public.

Beneficial Unani

Muslim Murasu, January 2011

7,30,000 doctors and 9,30,000 nurses are rendering massive service in healthcare sector in India. Taking current prices into account, it is not possible to create a doctor without spending one crore rupees. Economic, cheap treatment cannot be expected from doctors who have invested heavily to garner their degrees.
One Unani doctor can be created for every 10000 population. Medicinal roots, honey and herbal products will be beneficial with low expense and without any side effects. Natural plants that are freely available in our land can be used to the hilt.
Dr B.C.Roy is one of the founders of Indian Medical Council. He became Chief Minister of West Bengal. He had it a habit to allot few hours every day to tend to poor people. He donated his house also. Today his organisation has grown to 1,78,000 doctors and 1700 branches. Unani sector is also in need of sacrificial people. Unani clinics should be opened in all 12,000 Muhallas. No point in banking on Government. In 1917, British government enacted law against Unani. Hakeem Ajmal Khan was national president of Indian National Congress. He organised agitation against government. There is no change even today. There is no significant support from government for Unani. Step-motherly attitude prevails. Yet Unani has grown as 40 colleges, 150 hospitals, 1500 clinics and 50,000-degree holders, thanks to relentless efforts of patronisers of Unani.
Sultans who ruled India between 1206 and 1527 gave due respect and developed Unani. Healthcare department of Central government showed interest in 1971. Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL) that was started in 2001 catalogs 98,700 types of treatments. There are 22 national laboratories; central laboratories are located in Hyderabad and Lucknow.
Hamdard, started by Hakeem Hafiz Abdul Majeed in 1906, is manufacturing 450 Unani products. With a profit of 150 crore rupees, it is catering to the needs of 20 nations.
Even after thousand years, Muslims in Tamilnadu are reluctant to have faith in Unani treatment. One shop should be allotted for Unani treatment among the shops that are given for rent in premises of Mosques. English medicine is running amok hankering after profit of thousands of crores of rupees. Spurious, low-quality drugs are being sold. There is no check. Doctors serve as middlemen to sell drugs to public. Copious profits are recorded in pharmacy stores. There is no point in griping about the situation. Unani conferences can be organised at district levels and achievements, principles, simple treatment, benefits of herbal products can be explained. This will bring confidence to people. Muslim philanthropists and trustees in mosques should support penetration of Unani. People should be saved from demonic shackles of English Alopathic medicine. Allah will bestow his Rahmath!

Urgent need For Religious Book Penetration

Muslim Murasu, January 2011

People are ready to spend thousands of rupees towards yoga, meditation, physical and mental training in these days of mechanic life. Mental stress and heart diseases are punishing everyone. Due to advent of technical instruments, life is filled with speed and luxury. In the remaining leisure hours, debauchery and spirituality knocks the door. Profane entertainment will cause debased mentality and increase violence and graft. Spirituality is needed as an alternate. 5000-seater auditorium is brim with spiritual discourse. 10 days of Vedic lectures. Distinguished officers and entrepreneurs are at the feet of Guruji. They wander in search of solace. Trusts are hosting deposits of crores of rupees. Man today is in search of spirituality. Books will improve spiritual and peaceful thoughts according to individual’s capacity and mentality. Religious riots will disappear. Police, jails and courts will be rendered needless. Citizens of India will protect their life with self-control and self-discipline. Blissful words and utterances of cautions by Guruji and spiritual elites will lead the hearts. Today slogas from Vedas, Bajans are recorded as mobile ring tones. This indicates increase in hunger for spirituality.

Tricolor national flag and the wheel in its center symbolizes religious message and its necessity. Central and state governments do not spend a penny for the penetration of religion. Religious inclination is important here. Hatred rears high in the name of secularism. Government should allot fund to spread each religion. Religious books can be published. As a start, government can earmark 100 crore rupee each for religious preaching. There is no doubt that people are patronisers, lovers and seekers of religion. There is no need for secularism drama. High officers and ministers have faith in religion. Atheism, rationalism, socialism and anti-religiosity will not work in India. Religiosity has not subsided even after 63 years. Flood of money from individuals is being spent for religious preachings. Here life won’t move on after sidelining religion. Religion is not antithetical to growth in knowledge, progress in different arts, scientific miracles or human rights. In Tamilnadu, government and political parties need votes, support, donation, fund and tax from religious people. But government does not help religious preaching. This is violation of democratic duty. Religious extremism is dangerous. But even a kid, let alone others, will clearly understand the difference between love for religion and religious extremism. 12,000 Muhallas and Jamaaths are pledging for harmonious society. Here government can quickly allot 100 crore rupees for religious books. Constitution will not be a hindrance.

Confusion Over Magazine Cover Price

Muslim Murasu January 2011

Magazines of distinction sell at eight dollars (400 rupees) in international market. Readers are conditioned to spend 100 rupees daily. In Tamilnadu, good magazine can be priced justifiably at 50 rupees. But magazines run by Muslim community sell for 10 rupees.
Articles are written in the middle of the night after abandoning slumber, shrinking materialistic atmosphere, forsaking self-interests and with utmost sense of responsibility. Readers who read heart stirring, thought kindling, life changing and path breaking creations should immediately send 1000 rupees to writer or publisher. Nothing will be available eternally for free in today’s world. Air is polluted. Clean water is not available. There is paucity of leaders who love nation and dearth of religious people who love simplicity. Knowledge and motivation has to be imparted in such tough bitter climate. Those who seek quality magazines can consider literary expense as part of their life. Those who spend 20000 rupees per month for family expenses can donate 200 rupees for the benefit of magazines. 2 lakh rupees donation is given for LKG education. Professional courses swallow 10 lakh rupees. Zubeda Hamid writes in Indian Express that reporters and writers in famed magazines and newspaper are given gifts as varying as holiday package, refrigerator, washing machine, admission in educational institution, diagnosis and treatment in star hospital, mobile phone, jewelery, gold coin, imported liquor and perfume, modern suit material, sweet box, expensive wrist-watch and dry fruit box. Muslim writer take up the mantle in religious circle and literary landscape with an attitude of philanthropy and a sense of integrity. Such service is on par with contributions of Imam, Mohsin and Madrasa Ustad. Creators sweat their blood out so that the society will live a balanced life. Without much hype or fanfare they create poems, articles and short stories. Society gradually progresses owing to this. Confusion ends and path emerges. Columnists and journalists complete the task that was once done by Prophets and Auliyas. Readers who get to read apt and perfect writing should extend monetary support with urgency. Though cover value is printed as 10 rupees, 1000 rupees should be granted for the magazine. Else quality creations wont be created.

Coalition Television Violence

(This is translation of an article published in Muslim Murasu January 2011)

Earlier politics extended support for authority, corruption, abuses and excesses. At some stages, schemes beneficial to public were also implemented. But now, politicians play wildly with people’s lives through television.
Television channel determines list of terrorists. Journalists are sought after to include or dismiss a minister. Television is readily available to threaten upcoming entrepreneur. Television comes handy to rein in manager of educational institute.
Each political party holds sway over corridors of power and nurture private TV channels. Large amount of money is being swindled by blacking out relevant news. Coalition principles help many a candidate win elections. No party has the strength to go to people all alone. Even deposit will be forfeited. Political prospect will be doomed. It will become difficult to protect black money and crony organizations that have been amassed over years. Children will have to come to platform. Private TV channels are new destinations of black money investments. Private TV channels are shielding entrepreneurs who are cooling off under inflationary pressures. Imprisonment is warded off. TV channels collude and carefully play out that no new leaders arise from among backward castes.
Votes of 40 lakh Muslims in Tamilnadu take part in shaping political and electoral results. Muslim organizations, movements and parties are compelled to extend support during elections. Poster, cutout, dais, speech, public event and interview are blatantly staged. As an aside, communal, religious, racial undertones also go on stage. But the winning party will keep Muslim organizations and VIPs at distance from day one. TV channels of ruling party, opposition party and caste-based parties do not telecast Muslim events. Cinema award functions and other events are live-telecast. But the religious meetings, events by educational institutions, cultural and arts events, religious festivals, literary conferences organized by Muslims are completely ignored. Coalition principle is being violated. Camera rejects even events where national level leaders and state level executives participate. Achievements of next generation speakers, writers, thinkers and revolutionaries are kept in the dark. Face and speech of old sharks are sometimes accidentally shown. Private TV channels can liberally telecast public events organized by Muslims within the ambit of law. Hindus wont feel infuriated. There is blot in the hearts of scribes, cameramen and owners. “We want votes but we wont care afterward”. Jamaaths should pay attention to the political coalition TV channels that rejects the community.
