What Is The Use In Asking More Questions ?

Weekly speech at Tableeghi Markaz, Masjide Amina, Tolichowki, Hyderabad

Speaking about and listening to God’s remembrance is beneficial. Prophet has emphasized this. Listening without any purpose will get punishment. If the vessel is kept in proper position while raining, water will collect and fill. Otherwise it will go wasted. Listening with the intent to act upon it will mend our ways.
Shaitan is cunning. First he will stop us from attending good gathering. If he fails there he will make our hearts wander. Person will be physically present here while his mind is in America. It is irrelevant whether you know something or not. Put to practice what you listen. Allah will not waste anyone’s efforts. Religion is open to anyone who is willing to accept. It cannot be imposed on anyone.
Abu Talib was very helpful to Prophet (s.a.w.s). He had done huge favor on Muslims. But he had no yearning for Islam. What will the world think. Prophet insisted him to say Kalima discreetly in his ears. Abu Talib declined.
If a good deed is done for the sake of Allah, people will be happy. Allah will be pleased. Allah will hate if something is done to appease others. People will become enemies. Muawiya (rali) wrote to Ayisha (rali) seeking some advice from her. Ayisha (rali) replied.
You may find yourself in a position where you can judge a matter keeping Allah in mind or to impress people. In such a situation, decide for the sake of Allah. Allah will be pleased. All hearts are in Allah’s Hand. So people will also be convinced. If you decide to please the people, then Allah will hate it and people will turn angry.
Surah Hujuraat, 49, verse 10 – ‘innamal mu’minuna ikwatun’. Truly believers are brothers. Our bonding rests on the common goal to succeed in the hereafter. Our knowledge is incomplete. Knowledge of Wahi can fulfill it. Who is a successful person. He should be content with his success.
Surah Shams, 91, verse 9 – ‘kad aflaha man zakkaahaa’. Truly he succeeds that purifies his soul. Allah takes vows on seven creations; sun, moon, day, night, sky, earth and soul. Vows will be taken as a last resort when the opponent is denying a message relentlessly. Success lies in purification of Nafs (soul). Prophet told that whoever recites this Surah once will earn reward equivalent to donating the whole earth in charity.
Our hearts should be cleansed from Shirk, Kufr, Bidat and sins. There is a serious conspiracy plotted to immerse Muslims in materialism. They are made to indulge in materialistic rage. During the period of British, people were alienated from Ulema (scholars). Ulema were hanged. Copies of Quran were burnt. Discord was planted among scholars.
Every family needs an Aalim (scholar). We see family doctors and family lawyers. When an Aalim instructs on something, further clarity should be sought from the same Aalim. Confusion will not be solved by going to some other Aalim. If we buy a dress from a shop, we should go to the same shop in case we find any issue or need any correction. Complaining to another shopkeeper is of no use.
Purification of soul starts from saying Kalima. This is the first step. Azaan (prayer call) is said in our ears when we are born. Allah’s Glory and  Prophet’s importance are proclaimed. Islam came through Prophet to Ulema. Only loss will come from raising more questions and doubts. The history of Bani Israel should help us.
There was a murder during the period of Moosa (alai). Who was the murderer. Allah sent revelation to Moosa (alai). Slaughter a heifer, take a piece of it and strike the body of the dead man. He will raise and point to his murderer. These were clear instructions. But his people kept asking more questions.
Surah Baqara, 2, verse 68 – ‘yubayyin lanaa maa hiya’. What heifer is it? ‘baqaratun laa faaridun walaa bikhrun’. Heifer should be neither too old nor too young, but of middling age. ‘maa lawnahaa’. What is its color? ‘baqaratun safraau faaqiun lawnuhaa tasurrun naazireen’. A fawn-colored heifer, pure and rich in tone. More information was given but they were not done with their questions. ‘innal baqara tashaabaha alaina’. All heifer appear same to us. ‘laa zalulun tusheerul arda walaa tasqil harsha musallamatun laa shiyata fiha’. A heifer not trained to till the soil or water the fields, sound and without blemish. They kept questioning Moosa (alai). But there was no change in what God had commanded initially. Companions of our Prophet did not use to ask questions. They were completely obedient to the commands. That is the model for us.
We have been blessed with huge bounties by God. Surah Ibrahim, 14, verse 34 – ‘in tauddu ni’matallahi laa tuhsuhaa’. You cannot count the favors of God. We did not go to work when we were young. We did not earn money. We will cry and our wants will be fulfilled. The same is true even today. We cannot fulfill our needs.
Let us understand the value of Imaan (faith). World will function if there is just one Believer alive. A bus will not be run from Hyderabad to Bangalore daily if there is only one passenger. But if that person is Chief Minister, then convoy will be sent along with him. Treatment differs based on the person, his status and importance. Yusuf (alai) gifted huge rewards to the one who helped him. He rewarded the one who testified for him. God will reward His servants according to His Majesty in the hereafter.
A large Degchi (vessel) of Briyani cannot be cooked with a small candle. Our Imaan is weak. It has not stopped usury. It has not reduced sins. Imaan will increase if we do missionary work. Listening and talking about Islam will increase faith. A person came for alms to Ayisha (rali). She gave a grape. The maid looked puzzled. Ayisha (rali) explained. Surah Zilzaal, 99, verse 7 – ‘fa mayya’mal mishqaala zarratin khairay yaraa’. Even small goodness will be taken into account. We should have faith. Even a grape fruit will be rewarded. Atmosphere and temperature are not visible. But we are able to measure it. Allah will accurately weigh our deeds. How can we check our Imaan. Deeds will be stronger if we abide by Quran and Hadith. No one announces to take out bedsheet during winter. It comes out automatically with winter season. Good deeds will come automatically with Imaan. One particle of rice is enough to test the entire bowl. Our deeds will be good if our Salaat (prayer) is good.
Surah Ankabut, 29, verse 45 – ‘innas salaata tanhaa anil fahshaai wal munkar’. Prayer stops from shameful and unjust deeds.
