Anti-Indian Mindset

Muslim Murasu, October 2012

Perarinar Anna campaigned against the ruling class at the center and came to power in the state in 1967. 45 years have elapsed. The current state government is persistently, vehemently criticizing the central government. Central government is the only reason for all the unresolved issues in the state. This is political agenda. Election tactics for forty parliamentarians is clearly exposed. Statehood, autonomy for the state has been the dream of Tamilians for a long time now. Army, foreign relations and currency note generation, these three powers will stay with central government. Remaining all departments and powers can be under state government control. Coalitions and alliances that came in between have given new shape to India. All important power centers including mines, railways, commerce, finance, petroleum, healthcare, home department, harbor, IT, law, have come under the control of politicians from Tamilnadu from time to time. Narrow party politics, hunger for money and relations with international capitalists were prioritized causing the interest and wellbeing of Tamilians to be ignored. We should bear in mind that many bureaucrats operating central government are from Tamil soil.
Central government is harshly accused as showing step-motherly treatment. Tamilnadu prevented the entry of link language Hindi and paved a new way for its sake. False political promises like so-much-rice-for-a-rupee were staged and repeated. Tamilians today are having to suffer for cruel consequences from the past. Honorable M.G.R took a compromising, amicable stance with bosses at the center. He did not raise regional, racial issues. Good relation between state and central governments will help Tamilnadu to grow. There won’t be any takers among Tamilians anymore for taunts and diatribes directed at central government or Prime Minister. Tamilians have been gaining shrewdness and maturity about politics. But Tamilnadu politicians are trapped in a sentiment that is fifty years old.
