Predetermined Four

Darse Quran by Maulana Doctor Muhammad Mustafa Shareef Naqshbandhi

News items that show Muslims, Islam, Quran and Prophet in bad light keep being telecast and published in media. This is not a new phenomenon. There was an attempt of intrusion in Quran. They are screening a film on Prophet. Salman Rushdie wrote a senseless, fallacious book Satanic Verses.
Surah Inshirah, 94, verse 4 – ‘rafahna laka zikrak’. ‘We raised your esteem high’. Even if the entire world comes together and struggles, Prophet’s glory cannot be brought down. Prophet’s esteem keeps raising every day. Allah, angels and human beings join together and say Salawat for him. Allah also joins with us in this Amal, deed. The verse for this is called ‘Aayat-e-Salaatus salaam’. Some verses have names associated with them to illustrate their importance. Prophet felt happy and smiled when this verse was descended. Prophet was honored and through him we also got respect. Reciting Salaat will give 10 rewards and wipe out 10 sins. Jews and Christians cast doubts on Quran. This evil attempt will be repeated every now and then. It is alleged that Muslims will become backward if they follow Quran.
‘inna nahnu nazzalna zikra wa inna lahu la haafizun’. Surah 15, Hijr, verse 9. ‘We have certainly sent down the Message and we will assuredly guard it’. Quran is being guarded through Hafiz, Taraweeh and Quran Dars (discourses). You are aiding Allah’s Mansha (plan) by coming to this discourse. Coming from long distance shows your love for God. Gathering for Quran is the best gathering in the world. There is no better teacher than Quran teacher and no better student than Quran student. Doctor Hameedullah says that a person who is learning Arabic alphabets and a person who is giving sermon on Quran are equally respectable. Both are linked and tied to Quran. A person reading ‘Yassarnal Quran’ will later read full Quran, memorize it, follow it and preach it to others. It is important to regularly come here. There will be obstacles. Wedding ceremonies, illnesses and visits by guests may cause you to hesitate. But give importance to Quran. I have many works too. But I am determined to come here. You should compulsorily attend Quran discourse. Don’t look for excuses.
Surah Baqarah, 2, verse 165 – ‘wallazina aamanu ashaddu hubbalillah’. Believers love God more than anything else. You will be tested. Parents may give you second thoughts. Cooperate only in goodness. AbuHurairah’s (rali) mother threatened him that she will die if he embraces Islam. He replied that he is ready to lose hundred mothers, but nothing can stop him from Islam.
Surah Yunus, 10, verse 94 – ‘fa inkunta fi shakkin’. ‘If you have doubt’. Allah warns in stern tone. But anger is not directed towards Prophet (sal). Warning is general for everyone. Allah affectionately addresses Prophet as ‘Yasin’, ‘Taha’, ‘Ya ayyuhan nabiyu’, ‘Rasool’. The warning in this verse is for everyone. If you have doubt, consult with those who have been given Books earlier. We will believe earlier Prophets. But earlier Books Injeel, Tawrath and Zabur are not applicable today. Essence of those Books is preserved in Quran. Earlier Books have clear prophecy about Prophet Muhammad (sal). Our Ummat is referred as ‘Hammadun Ummat’, those who always praise God. This community will say ‘Alhamdulillah’ in all situations. Train your children to say ‘Alhamdulillah’. Illnesses come to us as expiation. No unbearable distress will befall us. Four things will be determined when a fetus has passed 120 days in mother’s womb – food for entire life, place of death, time of death and whether that person will go to heaven or hell.
