Remember Seven Attributes

Surah 12, Yusuf, verse 43. King of Egypt saw a dream. No one in his court knew to interpret it. Recurring thoughts can manifest in dreams. Sometimes meaningless things also will come in dream. Khwab, Ilham, Kashf, Vahi, Ilqa, need to be grasped. They are inter-related. Interpreting dreams is an art.
Seven lean cows were eating seven fat cows. There were also seven green ears of corn and seven parched ones. A person in the court remembered Yusuf (alai). Yusuf (alai) had earlier interpreted his dream when he was in prison. Yusuf (alai) had said, “Mention me to the king. I am unjustly held in prison”. Now that person in the court told to the king, “Send me to the person who can interpret dreams”. He went to Yusuf (alai) in prison. Drinking was not haraam (prohibited) in those days. Companions of our Prophet used to drink in the initial days of preaching. But intoxication is prohibited in all Shariath. After the command came, drinking was declared as haraam. The job of the person who met Yusuf (alai) in prison was to serve drinks to the king. He inquired Yusuf (alai) about the explanation. Yusuf (alai) told, “You sow for seven years as usual. But don’t reap entire harvest from the field. Take only what you may need. There will be seven years of famine subsequently. Eat what you had stored. It will be but little. After that there will be a year of abundant rain and good yield”.
Seven fat cows are seven sifathe kamaaliya – hayath, ilm, iradha, kudrat, samath, basarath and kalaam. Allah has given them to us as Amanath (trust). Life, knowledge, will, power, hearing, sight and speech, these qualities do not belong to us. They belong to God. In us, naqisa sifath (weak attributes) exhibits kamila sifath (strong attributes). Death is a weak attribute. Life, which is a healthy quality, is hidden in it. Ignorance is a weak attribute in which strong attribute knowledge is hidden. Iradha (will) takes home in istharar (aimlessness). Hearing power, sight and speech are residing in deafness, blindness and dumbness. Life enters into death like bread enters into empty stomach. Weak attributes take strong attributes in them. Seven lean cows swallow seven fat cows. All beauty in life come from these seven qualities. We get relations, friends and we do deeds, all because of these strong qualities. All greenness spring from these seven attributes. Do good deeds when you have these seven qualities. A day will come when you will lose them. Your good deeds will help you at that time.
